My Story
Rooted in Values
I’ve been practicing counselling since 2016, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, questions, and transformations. My therapeutic style is relational and person-centered, grounded in the belief that human connection is a powerful force for change. I bring a holistic lens to my work, recognizing the many facets that contribute to mental health and overall well-being. I actively embrace diversity in all its forms, and am committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering space that affirms and celebrates all identities, creating opportunity for those who wish to explore what counselling can offer.
As an ally to 2SLGBTQIA+ and Racialized communities, my personal and professional philosophy is rooted in anti-oppressive and anti-colonial values. You are welcome here – fully and exactly as you are.

Beginnings
I was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia, and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Psychology at Simon Fraser University. I began my career in mental health as a Research Assistant at Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS), engaging in data collection and analysis for the review of therapeutic and rehabilitative programming initiatives (Violent and Sexual Offender Treatment Programs) for justice-system-involved youth with complex support needs. While I found this work meaningful, I began to feel a strong pull toward more direct, personal engagement with the individuals these programs were designed to help. I began volunteering as a mentor and classroom assistant at the high school housed within the Burnaby Youth Custody Services Center (BYCSC), a detention center for incarcerated youth from the Metro Vancouver area. This experience was incredibly impactful for me, solidifying my view of violence and criminality as symptoms of profound human unwellness. I felt drawn to advocate for and be involved in supporting the mental health needs of vulnerable and under-resourced communities including youth, people experiencing poverty and/or justice system involvement and those heavily stigmatized in their experience with mental illness.
Discovering this calling led to my decision to pursue a career as a counselling therapist. In a leap of faith, I left my job in forensic research and moved across the country to earn a Master’s degree in Counselling (M.Ed.) at the University of New Brunswick.
My Experience
During my graduate studies, I completed my counselling practicum at UNB Counselling Services, where I discovered a particular passion for supporting emerging adults. I’ve since continued my work as a therapist with both undergraduate and graduate students at the university, helping clients manage a wide range of issues — from academic burnout and anxiety to trauma, identity development, and life transitions.
The diversity of experiences and backgrounds I’ve encountered in this setting has been incredibly enriching, and it’s deepened my ability to meet people where they are with compassion and curiosity. Alongside individual therapy, I have enjoyed facilitating therapeutic groups and supervising counselling student interns as they develop their own clinical skills.
My earlier work at YFPS and BYCSC gave me a foundational understanding of complex mental health needs in high-risk populations, and that experience continues to inform my sensitivity and responsiveness to each client’s unique context and story. Through every stage of my career, I’ve remained grounded in the belief that growth and healing happen in relationship — and that every person holds innate strength and resilience worth honouring.
Since moving to Fredericton in 2015, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the sense of community and connection that the Maritimes are known for. Even as someone “from away,” I’ve felt warmly welcomed here — an experience that continually inspires me in my work.

My Experience
My early experience at Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) gave me insight into complex mental health needs in high-risk populations. Later, at the University of New Brunswick’s Counselling Services, I supported students dealing with everything from academic burnout to trauma and identity challenges. These roles shaped my practice and deepened my ability to meet people where they are.
